Common questions
What counts as a decision?
A decision is any call to the Chronicle enforcement endpoint — an LLM inference, a tool invocation, an agent action, or a policy check. Forwarded streaming chunks are counted as one decision per original request.
Can I run Chronicle on-premises only?
Yes. Chronicle's enforcement runtime is a standalone Rust binary that runs entirely on your infrastructure. You can operate in a fully air-gapped mode — evidence stays local, and the cloud intelligence layer is optional.
Is there a free trial or pilot?
We work with every team on a pilot period. Contact us and we'll scope a proof-of-concept deployment against your existing AI systems — typically 2–4 weeks.
How does evidence sovereignty work?
Evidence is AES-256-GCM encrypted on the client side before leaving your network. The decryption key (DEK) is wrapped with your Vault Transit key. We hold encrypted blobs — never plaintext. You hold the keys.
What models and frameworks does Chronicle support?
Chronicle is model-agnostic. It works with OpenAI, Anthropic, Mistral, Llama, and any HTTP-compatible model API. Frameworks: LangChain, AutoGen, CrewAI, custom orchestrators, and any system that makes HTTP tool calls.
